The Move

There comes a time in most marriages where you move from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom apartment. Jon and I made the move in April, right at the end of my semester when I was frantically finishing up projects/papers/presentations. It wasn't such great timing but we were just moving down the hall in our complex so we (foolishly) thought we could handle it with a two-week overlap.

To our credit, we didn't need to pack one box, we just piled everything in laundry baskets, random open boxes, and suitcases. We moved out in exactly two weeks-- to the wire-- and took another week or so to be fully moved into our new place.

Our old place, pre-move
Our old place, mid-move
Jon being a good sport
Our new place, mid-move

No pics of our new place all moved in, but just picture our old place, but slightly bigger. I'll definitely post pics of our little boy's nursery when it is semi-ready (we bought the furniture yesterday-- yikes!).

Moving also got the nesting bug pretty much out of me. We went through all of our stuff, including the boxes in our storage unit (that is attached to our balcony). We got rid of lots of old college textbooks and other things that we thought we would need to keep. Actually, we are trying to sell a lot of books on Amazon... and people are actually buying old college textbooks from over 5 years ago. . . who knew?!

And for those of you keeping track of our address, the only thing that has changed for us is the apartment number. We are now at #403.

Moving at any point, but especially when pregnant, is not fun at all.

And, fair warning - your house will never be clean once baby arrives - how a kid can be completely immobile and still create messes is beyond me. ;)
